How Meghan Kaupp Uses Dalman Jump Co. Jumps for Hunter Schooling

Trainer Meghan Kaupp of her own Newcastle Farm demonstrates how she uses Dalman Jump Co. jumps in hunter lessons with her clients.

When training for the hunter horse show classes, Kaupp likes to build courses that mimic those seen in competition. Here, she has her client execute a classic hunter course and a handy hunter course. Kaupp uses Dalman Jump Co. aluminum stick and picket standards for the basis of her jumps and builds them with various poles and filler.

For the handy round, Kaupp uses filler to make a spooky trot jump. Setting it on its own, without standards, makes it even spookier. A great obstacle to practice! She also made an island out of custom pet filler and a custom logo filler, as like items are sometimes in the ring and can cause a horse to spook. Always good to practice everything before you go to the show!

The hunter and jumper trainer says they have had their DJC course for about two years. Even after heavy use, (they have about 40 horses in the barn!) the jumps are still up to standard and look great.

“Javan has provided us with a great array… All kinds of stuff to school over at home,” Kaupp exclaims.

Purchase your own horse jumps by contacting DJC today, or by browsing our full catalog online! Don’t see what you need? If you can dream it, we can build it.
